Being a teenager is tough as it is but being a teenager with acne can feel like the universe is playing a cruel joke on you. If you have a teenager who suffers from acne, then back to school season may leave them feeling a little bit anxious and self-conscious. To help them feel more confident and excited about going to school, we have a few tips for you to pass onto them.
Acne Tips
Schedule an appointment
The first and most helpful step that you should take is scheduling an appointment with them with Dr. Toni Stockton at our Phoenix office. During their initial consultation, Dr. Stockton will look at their skin, ask them some questions, and then ultimately create a treatment plan for them to help get rid of their acne as quickly as possible.
Get Them Face wipes
If your teenager plays sports after school or takes gym class at school, all of that extra sweat is only making their acne a lot worse. Send them to school with some face wipes so that they can wash off all of the sweat right after they workout; the less time that sweat sits on their skin for, the better. Plus, you can find over the counter face wipes that are made for acne and have salicylic acid in it.
Make Sure They Are Consistent
Another thing that you can do is make sure they are consistent when washing their face and using their acne products. When it comes to fighting acne or any other skincare concerns consistency is key. Try to get them into the habit of washing their face both morning and night and applying their treatments as much as recommended. Although it may feel like babysitting at first, they will definitely thank you when their acne clears up.
