What is Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing?
In our efforts to provide only the best care to our patients in Phoenix, AZ, we at Stockton Dermatology are offering fractional laser skin resurfacing for your skin care needs. This procedure is one of the fastest and most cost effective ways to treat many skin conditions. Unlike traditional laser methods, fractional laser skin resurfacing yields the best results at very little risk and minimal patient downtime.
This procedure involves the use of micro beams that create areas of treated tissues surrounded by untreated tissues and this provides a faster healing rate with reduced side effects.
This treatment works best in treating wrinkles, surgical and acne scars, striae, melasma, unwanted skin textural irregularities, blotchy skin, crow's feet, and any other skin problem areas in the neck, face, chest, arms and legs.

How does the Fractional Laser work?
Fractional laser skin resurfacing works by using the body's natural healing response to skin injuries. By creating an area of affected tissue that extends through the epidermis and into the dermis, the body's healing process would create new and healthy tissues that will replace the affected tissues and this results in healthier and younger-looking skin.
What are the different Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing techniques?
Stockton Dermatology offers different fractional laser skin resurfacing techniques for our patient's different needs as shown below:
- Fractional Non-Ablative Skin Resurfacing - this is a very simple skin treatment and promotes the coagulation of skin. This technique is not costly but is effective. This is very popular among patients because they can see excellent results though this offers the fastest treatment duration and the pain experienced during the procedure is close to none. This procedure produces very minimal redness and swelling.
- Fractional Ablative Skin Resurfacing - this involves deep skin resurfacing that lets you control the ablation depths for single procedure outcomes that allows the patients to go back to doing their day-to-day activities in as little as 2 days after the procedure. The outcome is the same as that of fractional CO2 laser treatments but is achieved with even fewer complications, faster recovery time and minimal pain during the procedure. The long-term result is consistent and there is lower incidence of scarring, change in pigmentation, and infection as compared to CO2 laser treatments.
- Combination of Fractional Ablative and Fractional Non Ablative Skin Resurfacing - combining the benefits of the two techniques to be able to provide one time treatment for skin conditions where your doctors can customize the depth, coagulation, and ablation to the patient's individual need.
