How Often Should You Get Your Skin Checked?

But, you may not know how often you should come into Stockton Dermatology to get your skin checked by Dr. Toni Stockton. Depending on whether or not you have had any skin cancer in the past will help determine how often you should come in for a check.

No Prior Skin Cancer

Remember that Dr. Toni Stockton sees patients for more than skin cancer; whether you have acne, rosacea, eczema, pigmentation, or anything else that involves your skin, schedule an appointment with Dr. Stockton, and she will get it taken care of. If you don’t have any prior skin cancer or other skin conditions, then we recommend that you come into see Dr. Stockton once a year for an entire body skin cancer check.

Melanoma

If you have a history of melanoma, then Dr. Stockton may recommend that you come into her office for skin checks every 3 to 6 months on average. However, depending on the type of melanoma you had and your history of melanoma, she may allow you to go longer between each treatment.
