Alison Peterson PA-C
“Skin is like a picture, it says a thousand words. It reacts and changes in response to stress, sun, food, allergens, hormones, weather, etc. I love practicing in a specialty where the diagnosis is right before your eyes!”
Alison Peterson is an Arizona native. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physiological Sciences from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ in 2005.
She began her training with Dr. Stockton in the summer of 2009 as a student in the Physician Assistant studies program at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. She earned her degree shortly after and began her career practicing in Internal Medicine/Cardiology followed by a year in primary care. Alison was invited to join Stockton Dermatology in 2011 and she started the practice in November.
Alison enjoys training in both medical and cosmetic aspects of dermatology including treatment of acne, biopsies, laser treatments, and Botox. Her family has proven to be the best practice patients and they love the results!
Tara Becher PA-C
Tara Becher is a board-certified Physician Assistant. A Wisconsin native, Tara obtained her Bachelor’s degree with honors in Spanish, secondary education and sociology with an emphasis in anthropology from Saint Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. She graduated with a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona.
Tara started her career in family practice and pediatrics and then joined Stockton Dermatology in 2018. With a passion for dermatology, she loves the way that dermatology embodies disciplines such as internal medicine and infectious disease with hands-on procedures and loves seeing patients of all ages. She enjoys the spectrum of medical and cosmetic dermatology including skin cancer, skin cancer screenings, acne, psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, warts, biopsies, anti-aging skin care, and Botox.
Tara is a diplomate member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a member of the Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants. Throughout her educational career, Tara has studied, taught, researched and volunteered in Spain, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Uganda, Africa. She is fluent in Spanish.
John J Shaff PA-C, DFAAPA
John is a board-certified Physician Assistant. He received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from Northern Arizona University in 2001 and his Master’s degree in Medical Science, Physician Assistant from Midwestern University in 2004. Since then, he has been certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. In 2011, he also received surgical specialization, CAQ.
Since his graduation from Midwestern, John has worked in general orthopedics and trauma, hand surgery, and for the last several years, Dermatology. Although he has always loved surgery, he realized he had a newfound passion in medical and surgical dermatology. In 2017 he accepted a job offer to train in dermatology and loved the opportunity to take care of even more patients and their skin issues. John has a particular interest in the detection, treatment, and prevention of skin cancer and other dermatology conditions.
Having been a patient himself, and survived a brain tumor, John has used his experience to become a compassionate health care provider and has earned the respect of his patients for his caring bedside manner. He is also active in the community, volunteering for sports teams and providing physicals to athletes through Team of Physicians for Students (TOPS). He also currently serves the State of Arizona on the Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants.
John is a Past President of the Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants. He is also a member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants, and the Arizona Dermatology Physician Assistant Society.
John resides in Phoenix with his wife and two boys. In his free time, he enjoys triathlon, running, playing and watching most sports and spending time with his family.
Laurie Evans Licensed Aesthetician

Laurie Evans, a certified laser technician, and licensed aesthetician is a California-native who moved to Arizona in 2004.
Evans has been with Stockton Dermatology since 2008 and has received extensive education and extensive training from working directly with Dr. Stockton. In addition to her work at Stockton Dermatology, Evans has been a Clinical Aesthetic Device Trainer for Genisis Biosystems at the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine since 2011.
Evans is certified by the Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency as a Laser Safety Officer, and as a Laser Technician who specializes in lasers, radio-frequency, and light-based therapies. Evans has garnered a strong aesthetic background working with a variety of skin conditions like Rosacea, Melasma, sun damage, acne, scarring, wrinkles, stretch marks, leg veins, skin laxity and textural irregularities. Additionally, Evans has been treating Psoriasis, Vitiligo and other medical skin conditions with Excimer UVB laser since 2009.
At Stockton Dermatology, Evans offers patients a wide variety of skin care treatments. Debbie Jeska Licensed Aesthetician

Debbie Jeska, a licensed aesthetician, and certified laser technician moved from Minnesota to Arizona in 1998.
Struggling with acne, eczema, and scleroderma is a personal battle for Jeska and her family. She’ll be the first to tell you that she appreciates effective treatments that yield effective results.
In addition to providing the standard aesthetic services, Jeska also provides a variety of treatments that can help reduce chronic skin conditions, improve unwanted scarring, texture, and laxity by creating customized solutions in order to achieve her patients desired results.
Cheryl Mennella RN, BSN Aesthetic Nurse Injector
Upon relocating from Illinois to the Phoenix area, Cheryl joined Stockton Dermatology in 2019. She brings with her 12 years of experience performing aesthetic laser treatments, cosmetic injections, and working as an operating and recovery room nurse for a plastic surgery practice in Geneva, Illinois. Cheryl believes it takes an artistic eye, a strong knowledge base, and a great injection technique to achieve great results when working with cosmetic injectables. She has a proven history of establishing trusting relationships with her patients and enjoys making people feel better about themselves inside and out.
Originally from Ohio, Cheryl graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Marketing. After working for EJ Brach Corporation (the makers of Brach’s candy) in their Marketing Department, she felt a change of heart and decided to enter the medical profession. She graduated from Rush University in Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is a Registered Nurse. She worked as a staff nurse on a Medical/Surgical Unit prior to working for the plastic surgery practice.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, biking, exercising, hiking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. She is a member of the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses.
Erika D Cárdenas Pharmacy Technician
Erika D Cárdenas CPhT, has been with Stockton Dermatology for 9 years.
She became a Pharmacy Technician and runs our in house dispensary. She takes pride in her position, working alongside the medical providers, in helping patients navigate their health insurance, to obtain the medications prescribed.
She is native to Arizona. She lives here in Ahwatukee with her wife and daughter. She enjoys travel, music and spending time with her family. Erika graduated Mountain Pointe H.S. Went on to Northern Arizona University as a Micro-Biology major, before switching to her passion for helping others, and is currently seeking a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She hopes to complete the Bilingual Nursing Fellowship Program through Maricopa Community colleges and graduate from the University of Arizona, with a BSN.
Christina Alexander Practice Administrator
Stockton Dermatology’s Practice Administrator, Christina Alexander has thirteen solid years of management since the opening day, November 1, 2000, and over twenty-five years of management overall. She is an accomplished leader with extensive medical experience from working in the ER, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Nephrology, OB/GYN, Cardio-Thoracic-Vascular Surgery and Family Practice settings. She also represents Stockton Dermatology on the Board of Directors for the ADA/M Group (Association of Dermatology Administrators/Managers).
Christina prides herself on facilitating high-performance amongst the twenty plus employees she supervises. Her professionalism and diligence foster a quality-driven, superior customer service experience for both patients and business associates.
